Ceramic raw materials are mainly divided into: feldspar, kaolin, quartz powder, alkaline earth metal, metal oxide, toner, various frits, and auxiliary materials. The most commonly used feldspars are: albite, potassium feldspar, nepheline feldspar, and feldspar. Kaolin is mainly classified by origin, and their composition and function are basically the same. According to the process, it is divided into ordinary kaolin and calcined kaolin, the difference between the two: their specific gravity is different. Quartz powder is dry-grinded and washed, and the purity of water washing is much higher than that of dry grinding. Alkaline earth metals are mainly: oxides of calcium, magnesium, barium, zinc, aluminum and mixtures thereof. Metal oxides mainly include iron, manganese, copper, and cobalt oxides, and their functions are mainly used in the preparation of kiln glaze. The toners are classified according to the color system, and the standards are not consistent. They are obtained by mixing metal oxides in different proportions and then calcining at a high temperature. The frit has a high expansion coefficient, a low expansion coefficient, and a low temperature. The auxiliary materials are sodium tripolyphosphate, viscous rubber powder and the like. There are still a lot of special materials that are not commonly used, I will not introduce them. Proper use of the above raw materials can be matched with high-quality glazes of different temperatures (medium and high temperature).
